About Us
Little Children Family Daycare is a licensed, quality family childcare center that was started by Uncle Mark here in Burnaby in 2002. We care for children ages 1 through 5. Our hours are from 07:30 - 17:30, Monday - Friday.
Being a family daycare, we are licensed for 7 children which enables us to fully focus on each child and their specific needs.
Here at Little Children Family Daycare, we believe that discipline involves a continuous process of positive guidance. We do our best to guide children to become independent individuals where they will learn appropriate and acceptable behavioural patterns. Along with that, we encourage children to be mindful and cooperative with others.
Our facilities are located in a home setting. We have a spacious and secured fenced-up backyard, where children are able to ride bikes, toy cars, play ball, draw with sidewalk chalk, or play house, along with many other fun activities!
The health and safety of our staff and children are of the utmost importance, as such we employ the use of security cameras to monitor the outdoor activity on our premises. Video is subject to BC privacy laws.
About Uncle Mark
My name is Mark Lim. I am a father of a loving daughter, Rachelle, who is the joy of my life. I started Little Children Family Daycare in 2002 after my wife’s demise, so that I could be home when my then 9-year old daughter returned from school. Although I was working in the travel industry at the time, I have always enjoyed being with children and like all dads, found nothing more rewarding than being able to spend time with my daughter. As such, the daycare allowed me the opportunity to care for other children as well as my own.
Children under my care become a part of my extended family. They will be in a home setting and enjoy the attention and protection like they are my own children.
I am a registered member of the Burnaby/New Westminster Child Care Resource and Referral. I am also trained in first aid from the Red Cross Society. I graduated from the University of Hawaii in Manoa, Honolulu with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication.
